The Soulbound Rune is a conversion item that turns other gear into soulbound gear. A soulbound item will not drop on death and is instead returned when you respawn.

Drop the rune onto a dropped item to apply it. Once converted, that item becomes soulbound instead of behaving like normal gear on death.
