# Trash Can

## Overview

The Trash Can is the placed version of item disposal in Slimefun.
Anything inserted into it is destroyed instead of stored.

## How it works

Open the Trash Can and use its center input slots to feed it junk items.
It has no output storage, and inserted items are regularly cleared away.

## Best uses

* A permanent cleanup station in a workshop or storage room
* An overflow sink for farms and mob grinders
* A disposal target for cargo networks when you want unwanted items removed

## Trash Can vs Portable Dustbin

The [[portable_dustbin|Portable Dustbin]] is a handheld menu for deleting items while traveling.
The Trash Can is the stationary base version that you place in the world.

## Tips

* Keep one near sorting lines, quarry output, or mob drop collection.
* Do not use it for temporary storage—items are meant to be lost.
