# Magnet

## Overview

The plain Magnet is mostly a crafting component.
The real quality-of-life upgrade players usually want is the Infused Magnet made from that line.

## Magnet component

Keep Magnets for recipes involving magnetic or pickup-related utility items.
They are a stepping stone instead of the final tool.

## Infused Magnet

If you carry an Infused Magnet anywhere in your inventory and hold shift, it pulls nearby dropped items toward you.
This makes it much easier to gather loot while mining, chopping trees, farming, or cleaning up mob drops.

## Great uses

* Strip mining and vein mining
* Woodcutting and crop harvesting
* Mob farms and manual combat cleanup

## Notes

* The pickup radius can be adjusted by a server owner, so the effective range may differ.
* You do not need to place the Infused Magnet as a block.
* It pairs well with [[backpacks|Backpacks]] and the [[portable_dustbin|Portable Dustbin]].
